No. Only cash is accepted, and if possible the correct amount is appreciated.

When is it time for me to renew my carry concealed weapon permit? Do I have to provide another Firearms Safety Certificate?
If you reapply a minimum of 30 days prior to the expiration date of your permit, the Sheriff will waive a new Firearms Safety Certificate. Failure to reapply on time will result in the processing of a new permit.

Will the Sheriff's Office notify my when it is time to renew my CCW permit?
The Sheriff's Office will send you a courtesy letter of renewal. This mail out is not a requirement. It is the permit holder's responsibility to comply with renewal regulations.

Can someone else pick up my gun permits for me?
No. The applicant must appear in person and provide photo identification at the time the permit is issued. If the permit is for a carry concealed weapon, the applicant must sign the permit at the time of issuance.

You may apply for up to 6 gun permits at one time and up to 12 per calendar year.

What do I do if I lose my carry concealed weapon permit?
You must immediately report the loss to the Sheriff's Office and sign an affidavit as to the loss. The information will be sent to the SBI and another permit will be issued to you. Do not carry a weapon concealed without your permit.
