Gun Locks
 As a firearms owner, it is your responsibility to know how to properly handle any
firearm you own, and also to know how to secure your firearm(s) in a safe manner in your home. Project ChildSafe, the
nationwide firearms safety education program, has been created to help you accomplish these very important safety goals.
The Forsyth County Sheriff's Office provides free gun locks to local residents through a partnership with Project
ChildSafe. The gun locks are distributed at crime prevention events held throughout the
county as well as offered with every gun permit issued. Gun locks may also be obtained each weekday between the hours of 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. on the 2nd
floor (main entrance) of the Sheriff’s Office Administration Building located at 120 West Third Street in downtown Winston-Salem.
