The Forsyth County Sheriff's Office sponsors many crime prevention programs held throughout Forsyth County. If your
organization or group is interested in having us offer a program, please contact us. Below
is a brief description of the programs we support/offer.
Community Watch is a crime prevention program that involves citizens working with each other and with law enforcement
agencies to reduce crime and victimization in their communities. Learn More

Educates young people about the real problems of illegal drug and alcohol use. Learn More
Fatal Vision®
The mission of Fatal Vision® is to promote safety in our high schools and communities and to contribute to the reduction of
alcohol and other drug fatalities and injuries through innovative, interactive and fun educational programs.

Drug Awareness
Teaches kids the dangers of drugs and the effect that it has on their lives.
Gang Awareness
Kids are taught about gangs, what to do if they are asked to join and the dangers of being a gang member.
School Safety
Work with the S.R.O.'s (School Resource Officers) at the middle and high schools to get kids proactive toward crime prevention at their schools. Learn More
Child Abduction Prevention

Eddie Eagle GunSafe® Program
Teaches children in pre-K through third grade four important steps to take if they find a gun. Learn More
Bicycle Safety
Conduct bicycle rodeos in the community to promote safety on the road and how to be safe riding a bicycle.
Child Fingerprinting
Conduct child fingerprinting events in the community to promote child safety.
I.D. Theft
Talk to adults about methods they can use to protect themselves from having their identity stolen and how to report this crime if it happens to them.
Work Place Safety
We go out to the work place and talk to people on things they can do each day to be safe a work.
Rape Prevention
Set-up work shops on rape prevention in schools and community centers.
Domestic Violence
Present work shops in the community on the problem of domestic violence and who they can contact if they are a victim or know of someone who may need help.
Fraud and Telemarketing
Talk to seniors and other citizens about the different frauds that are occurring in the community and how to avoid being a victim of telemarketing fraud.
Business Crime Prevention
Talk to business owners on things they can do to protect them from fraud, armed robbery, work place violence and store security.
The Crime Prevention Unit is also active in other community groups. We assist scouting programs with merit badges.
