Mostly sunny skies, hot temperatures, and light winds, Wednesday are contributing to a stagnant air mass and low code YELLOW ozone and particle pollution. A weak frontal boundary will approach and slowly cross the Triad, by late in the day, Thursday. Ahead of and along the front, numerous showers and thunderstorms will sweep through the region. As a result, ozone and particle pollution will be held lower and return to code GREEN levels. The front will push south of the region, Friday, before returning as a warm front Saturday. The close proximity of the front will keep the weather unsettled Friday and Saturday, leading to much needed rain, and a continuation of GOOD air quality both days (GENTRY).
